Cystoscopy
On Friday (11/16/07) I went in to the Reston Surgery Center for a cystoscopy to evaluate a 8mm mass found during an ultrasound of my bladder. The Ultrasound was to make sure the new plumbing is still working fine.
They put a scope up my urethra, so I insisted in general anesthesia...the first doctor I called apparently only does these as office visits. I know, you're thinking, "he's raced RAAM and he's afraid of a little tube..." uhm. YES. If the mass looked suspicious, they would excise it and test it. There was the possibility that it was just a fold of skin.
I was still groggy from the procedure when my urologist shouted across the recovery room that everything was fine, they didn't even have to perform a biopsy. My In-Laws came down from Fredneck to watch the kids so I was able to spend the rest of the day sleeping off the remaining anesthesia.
P.S. My Hematocrit is down to 27.4, so I have the EPO on order. My creatinine is 3.2, which isn't good.
