Cloned Kidneys
I was looking for confirmation of a statistic that I had heard and this is what I found:
"Research team successfully clones human kidney in rats"Check out this site
Nephronline for more info on kidney specific information. Obviously, cloning a kidney for a patient nearing End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) would be better than a living related donor, living unrelated donor, cadaveric donor, or dialysis. There probably wouldn't be any need for immuno-suppressive medication. Just a year or two on Prednisone, antiviral and antibiotic medication and then living life like normal.

PS The statistic I was looking for? 43% of African Americans who are now on dialysis found out they had kidney failure one week before they were put on Dialysis. Surprise, you need dialysis to stay alive and let's put you on the waiting list for a new kidney because this one is history!
